I've just installed it and there are few changes from the other version. No button to run in IE7 mode and more options to choose from, seems ok so far..

MIX 08 will be held from March 5-March 7, 2008, so perhaps around then, there will be a beta out. This will be interesting, to see how well IE8 stacks up to Firefox, Opera, and Safari.
