Hi
I have installed Windows server 2016 essentials on a system using Silicon Sil3114 Raid5 with 3 4TB Drives the install went find as normal but the system will not boot. When the system is starting up I hit <F11> and the Raid5 system is there as an option to boot on, but when I select it, it...
Thanks to my discovery of this forum my video server is well on its way to being set-up (Thanks to Neemobeer). My next question has to do with setting up a RAID 5 array. As I understand RAID it provides some level of data redundancy and a higher read speed than a plain old JBOD (spanning)...

I have a Windows 7 Pro X64 system which boots from a two-disk hardware RAID-1 array, operating from an Adaptec 2405 hardware-RAID controller.
I want to migrate my system and all data back to a single, new hard drive.
I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager Suite 15, which has a handy Copy Disk option...

Ok,
So I put together a new HTPC and purchased 4 2TB drives which gave me a total of 6 TB after setting them up as RAID 5. I created two volumes from that RAID, one is 2 TB and the other is 4TB.
Windows 7 is currently installed on the 2TB volume, though it only occupies about 17Gb.
I...

Sorry for the long post :(
I have 7 hard disks, all SATA
3 - are a hardware based raid 5 array
4 - are a raid-5 dynamic volume.
All disks are intact no damage.
Dynamic volume was used 2 hours ago, no issue
I wanted to load windows 7 on it to see how it would perform on this machine.
