I had been having blue screen problems with my old Dell XP. The programs WhoCrashed and BlueScreenView implicated a few drivers of non-essential software as the culprits. I examined the drivers module in AutoRuns (by Sysinternals) and carefully selected non-essential software drivers for...

My mom has a pc that is not starting up. It has windows vista and is freezing at the loading bar. I went into safe mode but the mouse wasn't working. Shut it down from there and it said shutting down so it wasn't frozen, it took a long time to load at (i think) CRCdrive.sys. I would like to run...
I got a looping BSOD the other day. This was resolved by pressing F8 and selecting last known good configuration.
I attach some error reports from the event viewer and am trying to decipher what it could be.
Any ideas?

Hello All,
Okay. About a week ago when I started up my computer, it went straight to Windows Error Screen with 2 options to either launch startup repair or start windows normally. Neither worked and when disabling system failure gave me the BSOD with the error message unmountable_boot_volume...
Hi, to be honest my computer probably has a serious problem. When I try to start up Windows normally, I type in my password for the user account and then it just freezes, it doesn't load. So I think, okay, I'll just try to start up it in Safe Mode, no problem. But when I try to start it...

Reboot, start tapping F8 until you get a black screen. In this we are using things before the GUI(Graphical User Interface) ie: Windows loads so we have better chance of fixing things.

I recently purchased the parts for a new custom machine and put it together and installed Windows 7 x84. Initially there were no problems and the machine would happily boot into windows and allow me to use the system with no hiccups. However, after I began downloading and installing updates for...
Well, i just installed the MSDN version of the RTM build 7600 of Windows 7. and everything went very smooth. its just that, i think it is conflicting with something on my computer. I shut it down the first time i installed and restarted. it booted and i was able to use it. but just a few hours...
I have a Dell Studio 17. I've had it for less than a year now. I opened it to log in..and usually I just use the fingerprint reader or type my login, but this time I clicked on "Switch Accounts" (or whatever that button is).. and it completely froze. I attempted to reboot and got a black screen...
