Have just installed Windows 8 developer preview (64 bit) on my laptop. For some reason the metro UI (block interface) is completely invisible - I can launch apps by clicking on the seemingly empty screen. I can search for apps by typing just fine, but the main block interface just won't...
On this site I found a hack to turn off the Metro UI and once that is done what is left is Windows 7. Is that all Windows 8 is? With the Tiles running as a application?
Also, once the Metro UI is turned off where do you find all of the same apps that appear on it?
