polling rate

About this tag
The polling rate tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about adjusting the USB polling rate of mice, particularly for gaming. Users share experiences with Razer mice that can auto-switch polling rates and DPI profiles based on active programs. A recurring theme is the challenge of modifying the usbport.sys file in Windows 7 to increase the polling rate from the default 125 Hz to 1000 Hz for lower latency. Threads detail hex editing attempts and compatibility issues with different Windows 7 builds, including x64 versions. The tag reflects community efforts to optimize mouse performance through polling rate adjustments.
