Is your mouse pointer waltzing across the screen with the panache of a ghostly marionette, programs launching and closing as if your PC has developed a mind of its own? Or perhaps new user accounts have appeared mysteriously, and your once-pristine desktop now sports a lineup of unfamiliar...

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then this ultimate level-up for Windows users paying homage to macOS is bound to delight both camps. Windows 11, as sleek as Microsoft aspired it to be, still treads far behind the polished and cohesive aesthetic appeal of macOS. But hey, it's the...
I really don't like the default logins for my windows 8.1 computer, as in I select a user from a list and it pops up a new screen and you enter the password then login. I would much prefer you type in the username, and then type the password. I am wondering if there is someway to do that through...

The only views that display the icon labels UNDER the icons are the Medium, Large and Extra Large Icons. I prefer the Small Icons View, but it displays the labels on the right side of the icons.
Is there any tweak or tool that would move the labels under the Small Icons?
Thanks.

# windows8 If you're afraid of, or just annoyed by, the concept of Windows 8's Metro (well formerly Metro, but whatever) UI style, there's a handy way around it. RetroUI is a program that will take users directly to the Classic desktop after login , and even lock Metro away completely. More*»...
Hello All
I use Windows 7 Pro on my Sony VAIO Laptop and I have noticed in the last few weeks that it has became slower and slower so I did the defrag, virus check, disk clean up, windows tweaks and tips un-checked most of the start-up programs and it did make the computer faster except for the...
Not sure If I wrote the title of this discussion correctly. Let me try some other ways

"What do I expect from an OS?"
"How involved with my everyday is my OS?"
"My OS is trying to rule me"
My basic argument (which may or may not be an argument) is that...

So I have 6 gb ram (4 corsair 2 G.Skill) but when I go to my system properties it shows
Installed Memory: 6.00 GB (3.00 GB usable).
When I pull the 2 G.skill's out it reads:
Installed Memory: 4.00 GB (3.5 GB usable).
Two questions: why is it when I decrease my ram from 6 to 4 GB do I...
