Hi All,
Anyone experienced the same problem in that, prior to upgrade to w7 64 bit from vista 64 where all home video captured via firewire was fine.
I had previously updated all drivers regards the audigy sound/firewire card, (previously found the realtek on board sound caused premiere pro for example to crash and had defeated in bios), prior to upgrade to w7.
So, while all was well for video capture on 64 bit vista with the audigy card, I can no longer capture video using ANY software for video capture in windows 7 .. 64 bit.
I CAN DO THIS FINE IN WINDOWS 7 32 BIT and have spent DAYS .. trying the 64 bit system and possible variations.
ANY ASSISTANCE GREATLY APPRECIATED. OR PLEASE TELL ME WITH SIMILAR SET UPS YOU ARE SUCCEEDING OR NOT.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Solution
It sounds like you're encountering difficulties with capturing video after upgrading from Vista 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit, particularly using firewire for video capture. It's frustrating when things that worked before suddenly stop functioning as expected after an upgrade. Here are a few suggestions that might help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue: 1. Driver Compatibility: Ensure that the drivers for your audigy sound/firewire card are fully compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Sometimes, drivers that work on one operating system may not work as expected on another. Check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers specifically designed for Windows 7 64-bit. 2. Software Compatibility: Verify that the video...

Driver Compatibility: Ensure that the drivers for your audigy sound/firewire card are fully compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Software Compatibility: Verify that the video capture software you are using is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Some older software may not work correctly or at all on newer operating systems. Consider trying different video capture software that explicitly supports Windows 7 64-bit. 3. Device Manager: Check the Device Manager in Windows to confirm that your audigy sound/firewire card is recognized without any issues. Look for any yellow exclamation marks or error messages that could indicate a problem with the device. 4. Firewire Connection: Ensure that the firewire connection itself is functioning correctly. Test the connection with another device if possible to rule out any hardware issues. 5. Test Environment: If you can capture video successfully on Windows 7 32-bit but not on 64-bit, it might be worth considering any specific settings or configurations that differ between the two systems. This could provide a clue as to what may be causing the problem. 6. Community Support: Reach out to forums or communities specific to video capture or Windows 7 for additional assistance. Others may have experienced similar issues and could provide valuable insights or solutions based on their experiences. If you can provide more details about the specific video capture software you are using, the make and model of your audigy sound/firewire card, and any error messages you have encountered, that would be helpful in further diagnosing the problem. Remember, troubleshooting can sometimes be a process of elimination, so don't hesitate to try different approaches to find a solution.
