I have a dual-boot system between Windows 7 and Kubuntu. When I forgot that Windows 7 is the default operating system, I left my computer running at the boot menu to go get a drink of water. When I got back, I realized my mistake and also realized that CHKDSK was running at a horrifically slow speed. Without thinking, I held down the power button and shut down the computer and booted into Kubuntu. Is my laptop now bricked, and if not, what would've happened in such a situation?
Solution
So far I just see a possible problem, but not a real one. Have you tried booting into Windows 7? Are you using GRUB for the Boot Menu?
It will probably be fine, but booting should confirm.
