Windows 11 Add tag to a file on a server

I am aware that you can add tags to a file by going to the file Properties > Details > Tags, but when I try to do this with files on a server the field for adding tags is not there. Is there any work around to adding tags to files on a server? Has anyone else run into this issue?

Not all file types support the same metadata properties. I believe tag is only supported on multimedia file types
