Support was discontinued after windows xp. However, windows vista had found updated drivers during auto-update. With windows 7 there are no drivers found.
Any help would be appreciated. If some guru would like to help by hacking the windows xp .ini files, I could send the installation file to you.

Solution
It's understandable that you're facing driver compatibility issues with Windows 7, especially as official support for Windows XP ended a long time ago. Finding updated drivers for older operating systems like Windows 7 can indeed be challenging. Here are a few things you can try to address this driver problem without resorting to hacking .ini files:

Potential Solutions:

  1. Compatibility Mode: Try installing the drivers in compatibility mode. Right-click on the driver installation file, go to Properties, and then to the Compatibility tab. Here you can select a previous version of Windows, like Windows XP, to run the setup file.

  2. Manufacturer's Website: Visit the official website of the hardware manufacturer to check if they have released any updated drivers for Windows 7. Sometimes, manufacturers continue to provide drivers for older operating systems on their support pages.
  3. Windows Update: Although Windows 7 might not find drivers through the standard update process, sometimes optional updates might include driver updates. You can check for optional updates through the Windows Update settings.
  4. Driver Update Tools: Consider using third-party driver update tools that can scan your system and search for compatible drivers. However, exercise caution and ensure you download these tools from reputable sources to avoid malware. If you're unable to find compatible drivers through these methods, you might need to consider upgrading to a newer version of Windows that has better driver support, such as Windows 10. If you still wish to explore modifying .ini files from the Windows XP driver, please provide more details about the specific hardware or drivers you are trying to install. This will help in giving more tailored assistance.
