Windows 7 Android MTP Device Driver fails to install

Okay,

this needs to get settled once and for all.

THOUSANDS of people have this problem where they want to transfer files onto their computer from their android phone but for whatever freaking reason Windows can NEVER install the MTP drivers successfully. Can we please get a real actual fix to this problem? It shouldn't be that hard to connect a phone to a computer and transfer files. (this is why I miss USB mass storage, phone acted like a flash drive)

I'm very sick of not being able to transfer files I want over to my computer.

Windows has zero interrest in making this happen ever... IMO this lack interrest is one of the epic fails of Microsoft (WX) but perhaps thats just me.

I've never had a problem with mtp. Has always just worked. Just out of interest and hopefully to find a fix. What phone do you have?
