i've got the following problem:

when i try to connect via RDP to my thinkpad T42 i get a 0x50 STOP bluescreen (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGES_AREA)

my graphicscard is a mobility radeon 7500. first i tried the omega 3.8.442 driver and now this one here:

Link Removed - Invalid URL (final version ... DNA-ATi 4.5.6.1-32x)

but it didn't solve my problem. BSOD still occurs. but it only occurs when my T42 is connected to my 19" samsung TFT (-> operating in "dual screen"). when i use my T42 without external TFT the RDP access works fine without any BSODs.

any suggestions what i could try?!

It seems like you are encountering a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the error code 0x50 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA) when trying to connect via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to your ThinkPad T42 while it is connected to a 19" Samsung TFT in dual-screen mode. Here are some suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
  1. Update Graphics Driver:
    • Ensure you have the latest compatible graphics driver for your Mobility Radeon 7500. Sometimes, older drivers can cause compatibility issues.
    • Try to update the graphics driver directly from the manufacturer's website or Windows Update.
    []Check for Windows Updates:
    • Make sure your operating system is up to date with all the latest patches...

    • Make sure your operating system is up to date with all the latest patches and updates.
    • Windows updates sometimes include bug fixes for known issues that could be causing the BSOD.
    [
    ]Disable Hardware Acceleration:
    • If updating the graphics driver does not resolve the issue, try disabling hardware acceleration. This can sometimes help with compatibility problems.
    • To disable hardware acceleration:
      1. Right-click on the desktop and select "Graphics Properties" or a similar option.
      2. Look for the hardware acceleration settings and disable them.
      3. Save the changes and restart your computer.
    []Check RAM Modules:
    • Memory issues can also cause PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA errors. Ensure that your RAM modules are seated properly and are not faulty.
    • You can run Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for memory issues.
    [
    ]Test in Safe Mode:
    • Try connecting via RDP while in Safe Mode. This can help determine if any third-party software or drivers are causing the issue.
    • To boot into Safe Mode, restart your computer and press F8 before Windows starts loading. Choose Safe Mode from the boot options.
    []Check Event Viewer:
    • Check the Event Viewer for more detailed information on the BSOD. It may provide additional insight into the cause of the error.
    • Look for any critical errors or warnings related to the BSOD.
    [
    ]Physical Connections:
    • Ensure that all physical connections, such as cables between the ThinkPad T42 and the external monitor, are secure and not damaged. Try these steps and see if any of them help in resolving the issue with the BSOD when connecting via RDP with your ThinkPad T42. If the problem persists, further troubleshooting may be required.
