Run a CHKDSK Scan: - Perform a disk check using the CHKDSK command to check for any disk errors that might be causing the backup to stall. 4. Scan for Malware/Viruses: - Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to check if there are any malware or viruses affecting the backup process. 5. Disable/Update Third-Party Software: - Temporarily disable any third-party software that might be interfering with the backup process, such as security software or system optimization tools. 6. Split the Backup: - If the backup stalls at a specific point, consider splitting the backup into smaller segments to identify where the issue is occurring. 7. Check System Resources: - Monitor your system resources (CPU, RAM, disk usage) during the backup process to ensure that there are no resource-related bottlenecks causing the stall. 8. Review Event Viewer Logs: - Check the Event Viewer logs for any error messages or warnings related to the backup process that might provide insight into the cause of the stall. 9. Try a Different Backup Method: - If the current backup method is causing issues, try using a different backup method or software to see if the issue persists. 10. Contact Support: - If all else fails, reach out to the support team of the backup software you are using for further assistance and troubleshooting. By following these steps, you should be able to pinpoint the cause of the backup stall at 28% and take appropriate actions to resolve it. Let me know if you need more specific guidance on any of these steps!
