Link RemovedLink RemovedI had a BSOD two days ago due to a BAD_POOL_HEADER, and I'm looking for some help to resolve it. I've attached the dump file. In the last couple of weeks, I have installed new RAM, upgraded from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit (which required a clean install) along with installing some new software (Photoshop CS5, etc.). The most recent thing was adding a new external monitor (NEC P241W-BK) & calibration software, which was not connected to the laptop at the time of the BSOD. Lots of new stuff so I'm not sure where to start in terms of troubleshooting.
Here's some info about my system:
Dell XPS M1530 laptop
BIOS version A12 (current)
Windows 7 x64 Home Premium, SP1
CPU = Intel Core2 Duo T9300 @ 2.50 GHz
RAM = 2x NEW DELL MADE GENUINE ORIGINAL RAM Upgrade 4GB DDR2 SDRAM SO DIMM 200-pin 800 MHz (PC2-6400) Non-ECC 1 x memory - SO DIMM 200-pin A2537142, SNPNY687C/4G
Graphics card = NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
McAfee antivirus software
Anything else you need to know?
I use Windows Update to keep the OS current. Device Manager doesn't show any driver issues. I ran the Dell diagnostics that came with the system and everything passed.
I've also had a problem occur three times in the last few days where I leave the computer on for a while and when I come back the laptop screen is black but the computer is still running. This has happened both with the external monitor connected (it goes into "off" mode as if it's not getting a signal) and not connected. Can't figure out how to get the display back or shut down short of holding the power button down until it shuts down and then rebooting. Not sure if that's a related problem, but thought I should mention it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
