EA Games/DICE have released a new Link Removed - Invalid URL for Battlefield 2. The patch contains a large amount of new content, gameplay tweaks and bug fixes. Most significantly, the patch includes: improved Vista support, proper widescreen support, a new map called Operation Blue Pearl, the game executable can now use more than 2GB of RAM, the addition of the Euro Force and Armored Fury booster packs as free content for all BF2 players, and removal of the disc check component.
Hopefully this may help those having problems that recently posted in this forum...

free addon content...sweet i'm digging mine out now as it's a far more fun game than it's rather bland 2142 sequel I thought...

heres another mirror for the patch http://www.bigdownload.com/games/battlefield-2/pc/battlefield-2-v15-patch/

WTF!!! just installed BF2 and ran once.....tried to update to 1.5 and it says it cant update cos I got a newer build???? HOW???

EDIT: the v1.41 full update is installing fine...lets hope 1.5 doesnt give me the runaround after thats installed.....flippin 1.50 is nearly 2gig and isnt all an in one tut tut

EDIT 2: Yes the v.150 patch DOES require previously updated to 1.41 to install....now to play the bugger, jjjez ya'd think EA would have put out an all in one patch to save hassles.....grrrr

yes been playing single player totally maxed out...looks very nice...now to try my online account, hasnt been used in a long time....btw make sure people that you installed PBsetup (Punkbuster setup) and update it or you'll get binned off multiplayer.

I'm currently back playing FEAR again as I know the DLC 3 for FEAR 2 is gonna be ready soon.. I just hope we don't have to pay for that neither... Mind you, it might be worth it just to see the return of Paxton Fettel Link Removed due to 404 Error

Bf2 rock's

This is good knew's indeed, battlefield two (in my humble opinion) has never been bettered for a sqaud based online only shooter.

2142 was good, don't get me wrong as was Et Quake Wars. frontline fuel of war came real close also,,,,

And I havn't tried crysis wars yet (will do soon tho!!)

DICE has released a Link Removed - Invalid URL which fixes problems when using ALT+TAB in BF2. The hotfix will also be incorporated into the full 1.50 Patch shortly.

Hey

Please can someone do some step by step instructions...
Do I install Battlefield 2 first or not and can you give me the links for both patches?
Please help
Thanks

Yes I know that questions sounded a bit stupid but I was completely stuck. The game woundn't install so i thought i might have to do something before but got it to install after i wrote that.
I have updated to V1.41 and am downloading v1.50 now.
I also have got the punkbuster setup thing and updated it but when i go to play an online match it comes up with this error:

"PUNKBUSTER ERROR"
"You have been disconnected by Punkbuster. The reason follows
in English below"

"PUNKBUSTER ERROR MESSAGE"
"Punkbuster kicked player 'nickbu1' (for 0 minutes) ...
RESTICTION: Service Communication Failure:
PnkBstrA.exe"

Please can someone tell me what i have to do, do i have to wait untill i have v1.50 or is it something to do with my computer or is it something to do with punkbuster??
Thanks

Quite simply you have to first download PBsetup from the official punkbuster site PunkBuster Online Countermeasures run it, add the various games that apply...then most importantly once its updated add firewall rule for IN & Outbound for Punkbuster A & B exes (something like C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PnkBstrA.exe on 64bit)

BF2 crashes in Windows 7

Hello,

I am having the worst time getting BF2 to run.

Machine Stats:

Winows 7 HP (32bit) (V 6.1 Build 7600)
AMD Athlon 7450 Dual Core 2.4Ghz
3GB RAM
Galaxy 9500GT 1G (driver version 195.xx)

Game Stats:

BF2 (patches 1.41 + 1.50)
Win Comp Mode: "Run as Admin" and have tired "WinXP SP2", "WinXP SP3", and "Win Vista SP2"
Security: All users have full control
Main Purpose: LAN only, no online gaming. (shouldn't need punkbuster)

Problem:

Launch game, BF2 splash screen comes up, then goes away to black. Two second later, crashes to desktop. Every time, same behavior.

If anyone can give me some suggestions, i would really appreciate it. I just got this from a friend and want to check it out. BTW, he had lost the Key for it, so i had to use a KeyGen - don't know if that would cause issues, but the game installed fine.

EA made keygens for this useless as you need a verified profile even for offline play, and before you ask more we don't condone piracy here anyhoo the game is on budget labels these days for £5-10 which is a sweet deal considering both the addons are now free since the new patch.

Sounds like a graphic driver problem to me, why not try the latest version?
