Hello all,

lately, my phone has been switching time zones like it thinks it's in the hands of a traveling businessman (which is what the phone is made for, but I'M NOT A TRAVELING BUSINESSMAN!)

Anyway, one would ask, "what relevancy does this have in a W7 forum?"
Well, I noticed just yesterday that the times my phone had jetlag was whenever i hooked it up to my comp with windows 7 running the latest version of blackberry desktop manager.

I very much enjoy being in the right time zone because i tend to use my phone as a watch. and if anyone has used their phone as an alarm clock, it can be a bit annoying to wake up at 2 in the morning and getting up to take a shower for school, or waking up when school has already started.

luckily those scenarios havent occured yet because i've noticed beforehand haha, but if it's any help, the zone seems to switch from GMT - 05:00 eastern time to GMT - 12:00 eniwetok. Any ideas on why this is happening?

PS my computer is in the right time zone (eastern time)

It sounds like you're experiencing some unexpected time zone changes on your phone whenever you connect it to your Windows 7 computer running the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Since your computer is correctly set to the Eastern Time zone and the issue occurs only when you connect your phone, the problem might be related to the sync process between your phone and the computer. Here are a few potential reasons why this could be happening and some troubleshooting steps you can try: 1. Time Zone Sync: The BlackBerry Desktop Manager could be overriding the time zone settings on your phone during the sync process. This could be due to a specific setting or a bug in the software. 2. Software Conflict: There might be...

Software Conflict: There might be a software conflict between the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the time settings on your phone. This conflict could be causing the time zone change. 3. Phone Settings: Check the time zone settings directly on your phone to ensure they are correctly set to the Eastern Time zone and are not being overwritten during the synchronization process. 4. Update BlackBerry Desktop Manager: Make sure you have the latest version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed. Sometimes, software updates can fix issues related to time zone changes. 5. Alternative Sync Methods: If the issue persists, consider alternative methods to sync your phone with your computer, such as using cloud services or different synchronization software. 6. Manufacturer Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, reaching out to BlackBerry support or the manufacturer of your phone for further assistance may be beneficial. If you provide specific details about your phone model and the version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager you are using, I can offer more tailored troubleshooting advice to help you resolve this time zone issue.
