Windows 7 Blue screen whenever I shut down or restart

Bluescreen

Any message on the screen?

Ok, i click the the windows logo in the lower left corner then click shutdown. Everything is acting normal so far. For a short moment before the transition to the Logging off screen, the screen fades and says something about force shutdown along with a list of applications that might need to shutdown, sometimes that force shutdown screen doesnt come up. Anyway, when the screen goes to the Logging off screen its says logging off then says shutting down. Everything seems normal. Then suddenly, boom. A pretty bluescreen version :) of the bluescreen of death appears with a countdown at the bottom of the screen. It is so brief that i cant read the entire page. Its says something about error to shutdown or something. It then reboots. Loads up just fine. Then a error window comes up and says Windows manage to recover files after shutdown error. Thats it, everything works normally for a period of time. I have also realized at times it shuts down after a prolong period by itself; sometimes it doesnt.

Need Help.....HEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!

@BetaBobby, any hints on what your solution was?

if there's still anybody following this thread, i m also having the same problem with my HP6255d desktop. i bought this 2 weeks ago and immediately updated my preinstalled windows 7 basic to home premium. then the problem started.. blue screen with a message: widows error recovery...it then reboots and after several minutes, blue screen again. this goes on several times before i get a smooth ride. this only happens after i shut down the computer and not after a restart or sleep mode. i had the OS reinstalled from the merchant just yesterday and thought i had it fixed, but when i got home and had the previous softwares reinstalled, BOOM.. the blue screen came back with a vengeance. softwares include: bit defender antivirus, advanced system optimizer, windows office 2007 home and student, CCleaner and perfect disk10. if somebody's came up with a solution, please help.

Copied this somewhere on the NET, don't recall where, otherwise I would give credit:
The common causes for the blue screen of death and the solutions to fix it are as follows:

1. Device driver problems - when new hardware is added to the computer, the device drivers may not be compatible. Try to get the latest updated version of the device driver from the manufacturer website. If it still does not work, remove or uninstall the new hardware and check if the problem continues.

2. New software installed may also cause a problem, so uninstall any new software. Viruses and spy ware can also cause problems, so ensure that you have the latest version of antivirus software installed and check your computer regularly. How to remove all spyware, adware and run a free antivirus program

3.Hardware problems. Computer components like the CPU, fan, RAM start malfunctioning after some time, especially if you use your computer for more than 10 hours a day. Computers with AMD Athlon CPU's generate more heat compared to Intel CPU's and so this problem seems to be more common with these computers.

4. A simple configuration change which I made, after which I never faced the problem of Blue Screen of Death.
a) In most computers the RAM memory is shared between the system and graphics - for example , for 128MB , 96 MB is for the system and 32 MB is for graphics (default setting). Reduce the memory for graphics to the minimum - 8 MB
b) Change the virtual memory settings
My Computer > Properties >Advanced > Performance > Advanced > Virtual Memory

For paging file size, select custom file size , with initial size 500 MB and final size 1000 MB. Save the settings. You can increase the paging file size further according to the software programs you use.

Don't really agree with the paging file size,as I would let Windows manage it.

However,if you have a second hard drive with no OS installed you can set the pagefile here for better performance.

Hi - i'm not the only one then and DELL are just passing the boook (maybe)

ok i also get the blue screen of death, infact i've gotten BSD ever since XPS 625 pc was powered up and down for first thime when shipped with Vista ultimate on ( befor ungrade from delll to w7 ultimate 32bit 2 weeks later, which makes me think theres been a hardware issue befor system even shipped from DELL), and was powered on and powered of. now i initially put it down to vista and thought it's ok putting w7 on soon so tolarated it, however upgraded to W7 and problem persisted. anyways i have had this pc for 10 months and w7 has been installed over 10 times and no improvment, all drivers are up to date.
when i reinstalll w7 every things fine at first powers up and down after reinstall untill i connect to internet windows updates and update
OS, then bluescreen starts again. anyways in last week my pc has crashed with BSD 4 times whilst working on pc (twice yesterday) and has DSB at powerdaown 7 out of 7 times. i have made a note of the code .

this is the error i get.
