My PC's been giving me a blue screen saying one of the below:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

I originally had 2 1gig DDR2 sticks and replaced them when my computer kept freezing. When I replaced them with 2 2gig DDR2 sticks I would get one of the above 2 blue screens and noticed it would stop when only having a stick in one of the slots. Now I'm getting them again as well as the third blue screen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Solution
The blue screen errors you are encountering on your PC, such as MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, often indicate issues related to memory (RAM) or driver problems. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these blue screen errors:

1. Memory (RAM) Troubleshooting:

  • Test Each RAM Stick Separately: Since you noticed that the issues stopped when you had only one stick installed in one of the slots, it could indicate a problem with one of the RAM sticks.
  • Memtest86+: Run a tool like Memtest86+ to thoroughly test the RAM modules for any errors. This can help identify if there is a faulty RAM stick.
  • Reseating RAM: Remove and reseat the RAM...

  • Reseating RAM: Remove and reseat the RAM sticks in their slots properly to ensure they are correctly seated.

    2. Driver Troubleshooting:

  • Update Drivers: Outdated or faulty drivers can also cause these blue screen errors. Make sure all your drivers are up to date, especially the chipset and graphics card drivers.
  • Check Event Viewer: Look for any error messages in the Event Viewer that could provide more information on the root cause of the blue screen errors.

    3. System File Checker (SFC) Scan:

  • Run SFC Scan: Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files that might be causing the blue screen errors.

    4. Hardware Troubleshooting:

  • Check Hardware Connections: Ensure all hardware components are properly connected, including RAM sticks, hard drive, and other peripherals.

    5. BIOS Update:

  • Update BIOS: Check if there is a BIOS update available for your motherboard. Sometimes BIOS updates can help resolve hardware compatibility issues.

    6. Temperature Monitoring:

  • Monitor Temperatures: Use software to monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU to ensure they are not overheating, which can also cause system instability.

    7. Safe Mode:

  • Boot into Safe Mode: Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the blue screen errors persist. This can help determine if a third-party driver or software is causing the issue. After following these steps, if the issue persists, it might be worthwhile to consult with a professional technician or contact the manufacturer for further assistance. It's important to back up your important data regularly to prevent any loss in case of hardware failure.
