Windows 10 Boot Windows 10 on Windows 8.1 pc

I have a hard drive with Windows 10 on it that came off of a broken computer and I am trying to boot it on a Windows 8.1 pc. How can I go about doing this?

If you install the drive, then boot into the bios and select the new drive as first boot device it should work.
BUT. You may not be able to register it with mocrosoft as win x key usually gets fixed to the mother board it was installed to if that makes sense.

Thank you. But no luck
