Hi, it's very nice to meet all of you here. :) Sorry to bother you all.

Recently I have had a frequent BSOD issue, usually when playing games but mostly with the "Sims 3". Before now, I have never gotten a blue screen error with the game, and the game runs well enough on higher settings. But sometimes when I "zoom in or zoom out" of a particular building, I get this error. Other times, it is completely fine, and runs fine.

Before I started getting these errors, I had to reinstall the game to fix a lag issue I could not find the source of. I also installed a Beta driver then, to see if it fixed the lag issue. I had absolutely no errors then, even with the beta driver. After I reinstalled is when I ran into the problem. The game runs great without the lag, but now the blue screens are occurring. I read the mini dump with WhoCrashed, and saw that the driver causing the Bad Pool Caller problem is related to an nvidia driver. I tried rolling back the driver AND doing a clean install of the latest driver, but I am still getting the Bad Pool Caller error.

One time, I had received the bad pool caller error, and when I restarted, I got the Corrupted Driver error.

I have run full-scanned anti-virus software, CHKDisk, memory diagnostics, and checked for corrupted files and they all came back clean. I have even reinstalled the game from the ground up, and still I get the error.

Again, it doesn't happen all the time, but it gets annoying having to be wary with saving because I am unsure if it will pop up when I go to map view :wacko:Link Removed

The attached file has everything including the CPU-Z, Mini-Dumps, and HTML Mem Test. It would be great if you could help me pinpoint the problem. Thanks :)

STOP 0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
Usual causes:
Device driver, ?Memory

Your latest dump file lists dxgmms1.sys as the probable cause. This is a Windows System graphics related file and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

As a Priority:

Are there any updates for the TS3W Game? Are there any known issues between TS3W and your nVidia Card?

Still to update: L1C62x64.sys Fri Nov 13 09:47:36 2009 Link Removed or Link Removed

Hi Elele and Welcome to The Forum.

STOP 0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
Usual causes:
Device driver, ?Memory.

Your latest dump file lists nvlddmkm.sys as the probable cause. This is a nvidia graphics driver.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

As a Priority:

spbv.sys Sun Oct 11 21:55:14 2009 A derivative of the sptd driver. The sptd.sys driver is notorious for causing BSOD's with Windows 7. It's a driver used and installed along with Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120 which you'll also have to uninstall.
Then use the correct (32bit or 64bit) download from Link Removed to uninstall the SPTD.SYS driver.
Make sure to select the uninstall button! DO NOT SELECT INSTALL!!
You should then check to make sure the spbv driver is no longer in your C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder. If it is, break it by changing the file extension from .sys to .bak.

Go to Toshiba and see if you can update ony of "their" old / outdated drivers (doubtful, but worth a try!!).

Re-set your graphics drivers.

nVidia Graphics Drivers.

  • Download and install DriverSweeper.
  • Uninstall your current Graphics setup through Programs and Features
  • Boot to (preferably) Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper to clean up the remnants of your current Graphics set up.
  • Reboot to Normal Mode.
  • Install your new Graphics set up.

BIOS There is an updated BIOS available for your machine.

HTH.

Firstly, I want to thank you for your help!

I have done all you've requested to the best of my ability (the Atheros driver I updated just recently, since the site was blank at the early time I accessed it).

The game runs great so far; I haven't run into any errors while in game yet. A received another error when closing the game unfortunately though.

Link Removed

A different driver, but could it still be related to the Nvidia driver?

Solution
Well, I've read its supported but then again this computer is old...

I believe it might be just be TS3W, as I have played Skyrim a good few times since without any problems both in game and closing it the other day...And no updates yet. =/

Would you recommend another install reinstall? Or just wait it out?

Another Windows re-install?

No, I wouldn't recommend it, especially as you can play Skyrim without issue.

Just convince yourself your too mature to play TS3W now! Or await an update to that.

Haha, will do!

Thanks for all your help sir! It was very much appreciated!
