To give you a little background I bought the computer about 4 months ago from IBUYPOWER. Up until about a week I had one BSOD in October but at the end of November it started to happen more and more frequently. I am not new to computers but I am in no means an expert so I ask for your help.

I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.

Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios. I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors.

At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.

Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router.

These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash.

Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.

I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.

I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.

I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.

On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it. Again that's just my opinion.

I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

I thank you all for your time and I appreciate any help I can get on this matter.

Also before I go I am going to post what I purchased below just in case that helps.

Hi Savral and Welcome to The Forum.

    STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    Usual causes:
Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility.

Your latest dump file (30-11-2011) lists HDAudBus.sys as the probable cause. This is a Windows System file and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

I've never seen CPU-Z throw up an error before. Maybe another member will have an idea on that.

As your dump is a few days old I'll go through it and advise as I find. Tick off, obviously, anything you've already dealt with.

    As a Priority:

AVG is known to be a cause of BSOD's on Windows 7 systems. Suggest that you uninstall it. Download the correct AVG Remover for your system (32 or 64 bit).
If you have AVG ID protection installed, download the AVGID Protection Remover from the above link as well (it wouldn't hurt to download and run it anyway). Download BSOD friendly Microsoft Security Essentials as AVG's replacement.
Uninstall AVG through the Control Panel. Re-boot to Safe Mode and run the AVG Removal tool(s). Re-boot to normal mode and install MSE. Make sure your Windows firewall is enabled!

dtsoftbus01.sys Mon Oct 17 13:12:30 2011 The dtsoftbus01.sys driver has been known to cause problems on some Windows 7 systems. This belongs to Daemon Tools Light. I suggest uninstalling DT Light until your blue screens are resolved.

Drivers that pre-date Windows 7. Update:

GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 13:17:04 2009 Gear Software CD-ROM Class Filter Driver v4.015.1 (Feb 2010). Also loads with iTunes

vvftUVC.sys Tue Jul 01 04:14:41 2008 Vimicro Camera Filter Service

adfs.SYS Thu Jun 26 21:52:37 2008 This is the Adobe Drive driver. Do you use Adobe Drive? Do you know what Adobe Drive is/does? Can you tell me? :D I've found with Adobe Photoshop that if you decline installing this, certain essential stuff doesn't get installed. Once it (and the essential stuff) has been installed I remove Adobe Drive. Just my 2p worth! I've not seen it involved in blue screens but it does pre-date Windows 7 hence its entry here..

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: ffffea800e1f8568, memory referenced
    Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, bitfield :
        bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff8000349bc02, address which referenced memory

I TRIED TO EDIT POST AND WHEN I DID IT JUST DELETED IT. PUTTING TROUBLE DESCRIPTION HERE:

First of all.. thank you. When I looked over your answer to be honest one thing stood out for me. The DAEMON tools is the one program I did just update which was right around the same time the problem started.

With that being said I did everything you asked and updated all the drivers except the Web Cam one which looks like the last time anyone even worked on that site was 2008.

I am hoping this does it. However, if it does not I will right away put together the dmp files and any screenshots I can get and put them here. I really do hope this works. It's been a frustrating couple weeks.

    STOP 0x000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Usual causes:
    Device driver.

Your latest dump file lists cng.sys as the probable cause. This is a Windows System file and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.

Vimicro Camera Filter Service. I shouldn't worry about this as you can't update. We can't have technology standing in the way of true love! :D

Removed the Asus Utility software and again it BSOD'D. :(

true love needs a driver update. Might just have to dump that thing and get a new one.

    Attaching new dmp file.

    STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    Usual causes:
Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS.

Regards CPU-Z, Did you download the correct set up for your system (64bit)?

Your latest dump file is indicating that the Asus utilities are still in there. If you've uninstalled the devices, do a search for the two named drivers and change their file extensions from .sys to .bak. This will "break" the drivers and prevent them from loading (after a reboot) and will also "break" any related software if still installed.

Sorry for not getting back to you right away.. my work schedule is a crazy one.

So just an update real quick. I did remove your files like you asked first of all.

I had a buddy come over and he noticed something that I never even thought of. When I first purchased my computer I decided to buy some seperate neon sticks and put it in my machine. 2 of them I did real nice and are near the edge of the case. However, one of the sticks I laid across the top of the motherboard and as silly as this sounds it was resting on the memory itself.

So I removed the neon off the memory and I haven't had a blue screen yet. The place I did buy the computer from did send me 2 new sticks of memory. I swapped out the old memory because I am not sure if I damaged them or not and I have been running BSOD free now for 2 days.

I am not saying I am out of the water yet but things are looking up.

As for the CPU-Z : Yes I did download the 64bit version. I might have to try and run it with this new memory in it to see if it reacts better.

So thats where we are right now. I wanted to update you as soon as I can and will update once again once I go at least a week or so with no problems.

In the meantime I would like to extend my gratitude with your help. In most situations I feel compelled to try and fix my own problems but this one was just bigger than I was. I thank you for taking the time to look over my logs and make suggestions to fix this very annoying issue.

Thank you again and I will update once more hopefully with continued good news.

Good to hear things are going well. We always have to try and "second guess" a lot of stuff. But suggesting shifting a neon off the memory is, I must admit, something that I would never have thought of suggesting. :D***

Thanks for the up-to-now feedback. Let us know how it continues to go and either way, hope to see you around the forums in the future.

***(Suppose I could always edit my second post and add it in. Make me look uber-slick :D)
