I have a gateway nv53 and it randomly gives me bsod while doing light browsing or during installations of software. I tried updating all the drivers and even reinstalled the OS. I'm running windows 7 64 bit and I also have the dump file. I clicked on search web for problem diagnostics but nothing came up. I think I attached the dump file.

Hi. This is a 0x124 error which usually means hardware. Before we go off venturing into testing which hardware may be faulty, we need to make sure drivers are in the right state.

The Conexant modem you have needs its drivers updated to the latest possible:

Code:
CAXHWAZL CAXHWAZL.sys Wed Oct 18 14:31:09 2006
modem modem.sys Mon Jul 13 20:10:48 2009
mdmxsdk mdmxsdk.sys Mon Jun 19 17:27:26 2006
xaudio64 xaudio64.sys Fri Aug 04 20:42:47 2006
CAX_DPV CAX_DPV.sys Wed Oct 18 14:33:30 2006
Here is a link to update these:

Ok just to give you guys a little more information, I tried to do a factory restore by using the factory recovery partition and at like 80% of the installation I got hit with the bsod again(couldn't get a dump file for this one because of recovery state) so would that help you guys with what you think the problem is?

It sounds like hardware. Please do some tests.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Link Removed due to 404 Error or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Here is a link to test hard drive: Link Removed - Invalid URL

OK I will run these test in the morning and post back with any results that I find.
