BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

Hi folks.

I'm new to this forum and hoping to get some help. I've built my self a new computer strictly for music production, but I keep getting random bluescreens (when using Cubase 5 mostly) and the sound stops working from time to time. I think (hope) it's my firewire-chip to blame, but I beginning to believe that I have a faulty RME 400 soundcard device or maybe even broken RAM. I've run memtest with no errors.

I've attached my SF diagnostic tool file

Thanks in advance

Anyone care to take a look at my diagnostics file?

All the best

Welcome yllet :)

I've just been looking through the list of drivers and dates, you have some seriously old drivers installed. Will take me awhile to go through them all so please bare with me.

Welcome yllet :)

I've just been looking through the list of drivers and dates, you have some seriously old drivers installed. Will take me awhile to go through them all so please bare with me.

Thank you so much. It's a totally new build, two month old or so, with everything installed from scratch, with latest drivers, so thats pretty strange. But I guess you are right, looking forward to your answer.

Take care

/Jon

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

While I'm looking for you drivers could you please go through the stickies in the bsod thread and gather as much info about your system. If you look at http://windows7forums.com/blue-scre...mportant-every-thread-starter-please-see.html
and http://windows7forums.com/blue-screen-death-bsod/55603-sf-diagnostic-tool.html When you have the SF Diagnostic Tool it has to be run as admin, so right click and use the run as administrator option.

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

Additionally regarding the http://windows7forums.com/blue-scre...mportant-every-thread-starter-please-see.html sticky, please follow the instructions closely. CPUz = memory tab, and all populated slots for the SPD tab. And regarding RAMMon, use the export feature to export the html report and then zip it up and attach it here as you will not be allowed to attach raw .html. The images from the snipping tool for CPUz can be upload as is.
And please feel free to attach any additional (newer more recent BSODs .dmp files) when and if they continue to occur.
Regards
Randy

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

Sry about that. I've now attached my memory timings and changed my diagnostics to admin. Hope it helps.

Any luck with the drivers etc?

All the best

/Jon

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

I see a problem with your memory timings. Can you set the command rate to 2T. At the moment it's set to 1T which will lead to instabilities. See how it goes then. As for your drivers I've been a little busy bit am working on it.

You do need to update the drivers for you video card. http://game.amd.com

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

Yepp I have my sound card connected to my firewire (pci card). It's a RME 400 high end music production sound car. Where do you think the problem is?

Thanks in advance

/Jon

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

can you take the component out for the mean time and see what happens, hopefully if you take it out the blue screens will stop

Well thanks, ive read and tried that... Anyway i changed my memoty to T2, but I'm starting to think I have a faulty Sound Card device... As my bluescreen is pointing to my firewire driver?

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

Kaos: Well my whole computer is built around the sound card, I have no use for it if i disconnect it. I'm doing music production for a living. So you too think it's the Sound card it self casuing the blue screens and occational stops? Then i might have a faulty device as o thought :(

Thanks for your time

its either a legacy drvier of a faulty device, .. you can run the pc without sound for the time being though without the card

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

In doing some research on Cubase it seems there are some issues with some of its addons in 64 bit win 7. I wonder which (if any) you are using. Also I am curious if your firewire sound card also supports USB. If it does you could try it in that mode (different driver) and it might shed some light on the issue. Yes I know USB 2.x is somewhat slower but may be worth it.

Thanks for all your help.

I'm considering downloading this hotfix: But the drivers seem older than the ones I already have, running sp1.

Should i try them anyway?

Link Removed - Invalid URL

I've attached my latest diagnostics file, the computer seem only to crash randomly (maybe every other day) when I've been working in Cubase for a while and try to open a new project, then bam!

Could it be my PSU, its a 560w Hiper. I'm running 2 hdds, 1 dvd, 1 firewirecard, one ati 4850, i5 2500k 8 gb ram

/Jon

This one Related to OrangeWare Corp. (usbehci.sys). I would re-install with newest.

Yes on hotfix and unsure on drivers.

Re: BSOD: new build, windows 7 64, RME firewire interface - SF Diagnostic

I'm reinstalling win as we speak :)

Regarding OrangeWare Corp, I have no idia what it is... Maybe my usb ilok device?
