Windows 7 Can a Recovery Disk Reinstall Windows After Erasing My Gaming PC's Hard Drive?

i am looking at selling my gaming pc, so i can build or buy another one, and i am looking at erasing this hard drive, and i was wondering if a recovery disk can reinstall windows? i have lost my book disk.

If it is Windows 7, you can get an installation disc from here:
