IDE cables have 3 plugs on them, One end for the MB, and two devices can be plugged into one slot on the motherboard. Is this possible with SATA? I have never 'seen' a SATA cable with places for two devices and I wondered if this is possible and are there cables available to plug two devices into one slot on the MB?

Thanks....

Sorry but no. SATA isn't capable of that. :)

Thanks for the answer. Sigh...............

You could always get a sata controller pci card to add more drives. :)

Solution
Yes, I know/knew a E-SATA is a option but I was wanting to have more internal hard drives. I guess I will get a external drive docking station.

You could get a sata pci card which is internal, I think they'll connect upto 4 hdd's

Would it let me hook up a external SATA also?

You can get all internal or e.g. two in, two out.

You can get just about any combination you want. Remember, Google is your friend. PCI to SATA

If me, I would look for SATA III cards - harder to find, but will carry you further into the future.
