Windows 7 Can you have your JAVA and drink it too?

Here is my problem. I installed Windows 7 64 bit (clean install) and things were running fast and smooth. I was on IE8 and a website needed JAVA, so I installed JAVA. The install went good, no errors. Now when I log into Windows after entering my password it takes about a minute for the desktop to show (only took a few seconds pre JAVA). Also when I open IE8 it takes alot longer to open to my homepage (google), once again longer than it did pre JAVA. I did turn off one of the JAVA startup files recommended on another site. Not at my home computer so I can't name the file.

Any idea how I can regain the speed I had, besides uninstalling JAVA.

I'd try un-installing and then re-installing as it shouldn't make any difference to your boot times really..

Yes,

There is a file named Jushed.exe that you can turn off.

Did you have any previous version of Java on your machine?

Go to Internet Explorer Options, choose the Programs tab, click the Manage Add-ons and see if Java is in the list and what version it is.. Should be 6.0.170.4.

I turn this off and still have the same problem.

This was a clean install of Win & so no JAVA versions

Not at home PC to find the versions, but I'm pretty sure it was the latest.

I'm going to disable my Java.

Could you give me the link to the site that required it?

Sorry I don't remember what site it was. It was a site that any age could go to in other words was not porn, torrents, or any thing like that.
