I need the driver for this volume control

I can't find it on the HP website, the device manager can't find it and windows update can't find it.

I also have three base system devices which do not have drivers that show up in the device manager, I have the same problem for these devices.

This is the volume control

Nevermind,

Have you installed the chipset drivers for that model? Also, what drivers have you attempted to install from the HP website? Have you used the Windows Vista drivers in case HP has not yet released Windows 7 drivers for your current configuration?

Also, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here Link Removed . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.

hi

I have a similiar laptop, dv61215ee. I did not need to install any driver for that volume control. After my custom install of windows 7, the volume control was working for me without any driver update.

I used to get like 4 base system devices which do not have a driver. I did not know what it was and i gave up on looking for them. However i then kept updating my windows 7 till there was no more updates left. Then i upgraded almost all my drivers, From BIOS utility to WIFI/LAN drivers (and my ATI graphic driver, Ati did not have one for the final build of windows 7 on its website) from the HP website. Now i do not have any of those 4 base system base devices. I am guessing the drivers that i installed, covered up those devices. I am guessing the 3 unknown base devices will include the card reader and the hard drive protector. I know this because for me the windows was unable to install/find drivers for them so thats why i went on the HP site. It gave me errors in the action centre for those two.
