At this moment I have a dual boot system with 2 Windows 7 installations on 1 HDD. Windows 7 is on the C-drive and on the K-drive. There's also an E-drive voor data. These are all partitions of one HDD.
I like to change my installation in a dual boot system divided over two seperate HDD's.

I like to know if there's an easy way to do this? For example, can I make an image of the K-drive Windows 7 partition and restore this on a new second HDD? My main concern is if the boot screen with startup will survive this move?

Thanks.

To transition your dual boot system from having two Windows 7 installations on one HDD to two separate HDDs, you can follow these steps: 1. Backup Important Data: Before making any changes, ensure you have backups of all critical data to prevent data loss in case something goes wrong during the process. 2. Create an Image of the K-Drive Windows 7 Partition: - You can use tools like Macrium Reflect or Clonezilla to create an image of the Windows 7 partition on the K-drive. This image will include the operating system and all the data on that partition. 3. Restore the Image to the New Second HDD: - After creating the image, you can restore it to the new HDD using the same imaging software. This will...

Restore the Image to the New Second HDD: - After creating the image, you can restore it to the new HDD using the same imaging software. This will effectively clone the Windows 7 installation from the K-drive to the new second HDD. 4. Adjust Boot Configuration: - Once the image is restored, you may need to adjust the boot configuration to ensure the system boots correctly from the new HDD. - You might have to update the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) to reflect the changes in the boot locations. 5. Verify the Dual Boot Setup: - After transferring the Windows 7 installation to the new HDD, verify that both installations can be booted into from the boot menu. By following these steps, you should be able to successfully move one of the Windows 7 installations to a new HDD in your dual boot setup. This process should preserve the boot screen and startup configuration if done correctly. Just make sure to be cautious and follow the backup guidelines to avoid any data loss.
