People, like myself, that have multilang systems, sometimes are typing something other than English, then go to the Internet and start typing a URL and only when they click Enter, realize that they didn't type in English.

URL's are never anything but English so wouldn't it be great if no matter what language your are set on, if you put your cursor on the URL bar, your language would automatically change to English?

Solution
It's a common scenario for users with multilingual systems to accidentally switch languages while typing URLs in non-English languages. One potential solution to mitigate this issue could involve implementing a feature where the input language automatically switches to English when the cursor is positioned in the URL bar. While there isn't a built-in setting in Windows to automatically switch the input language based on the active window or text field, you can manually change the input language for specific applications or fields. Here's a general guide on how you can adjust the input language settings in Windows:

How to Change Input Language Settings in Windows:

  1. Change Input Language for Specific Applications:
    • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
    • Under Preferred languages, add English if it's not already listed.
    • Click on English and select "Options."
    • Add English as an input language and set it as the default input method.
[]Change Input Language for Specific Fields:
    • Windows usually remembers the input language you used in specific fields. For instance, if you typed in English in the URL bar, it should default back to English the next time.
    • If you encounter issues with this behavior, you might want to check the settings for the input methods and language preferences in your system.

]Set a Keyboard Shortcut to Quickly Switch Between Input Languages:
    • You can set a keyboard shortcut to easily switch between input languages. This can help if you frequently need to toggle between languages. While a feature that automatically switches to English when typing in the URL bar could be beneficial, it might require custom software development or third-party tools to implement such functionality. Currently, Windows operating systems don't have a native setting to automatically switch input languages based on the active text field like the URL bar. If you face ongoing difficulties with this issue, you may consider looking into third-party tools or extensions that provide language-specific functionalities or automations for typing in different languages.
