Run as Administrator: - Some programs require elevated privileges to make changes. Try running the program as an administrator. - Right-click on the program's shortcut or executable file and select "Run as administrator". 4. Resetting the Adapter: - You can also try resetting the USB WiFi adapter. Unplug it, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in. - This can sometimes clear up any temporary issues. 5. Device Manager: - Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu) and locate your USB WiFi adapter. - Right-click on it and select "Update driver" to make sure you have the latest driver installed. 6. Alternative Program: - If the program you are using doesn't work, you can try using an alternative program to manage the settings for your WiFi adapter. 7. Compatibility with Windows XP: - Since you mentioned that everything works fine in Windows XP, you could consider setting up a virtual machine with Windows XP to manage the settings if all else fails. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with changing settings for your USB WiFi adapter on Windows. Let me know if you need further assistance!
