I have never made a backup to cd on my laptop. I tried this today using the W7 restore/backup installed program. The following are the results but I am not sure I did it correctly.

I followed the instructions and it ran for 20 min. and produced 1 CD for backup.

My C drive has 83GB installed and the D 12GB.

Shouldn't I have copied more thab 1 CD

If you have total used space of 100 gb - a decent backup image app.,like the Paragon, will produce a backup image of 50 - 60 gb.

You're going to need a lot of cd's.

Put it on an external HD instead.

You need to choose the System image option if you are sticking with Windows backup - though I strongly advise you use something else.
There are loads of free backup programs that put the default W7 version to shame. Link Removed - Invalid URL comes highly recommended and can be configured to backup whatever you need, on whatever schedule you need, to wherever you need! Give it a spin. It's free anyway so you have nothing to lose (so to speak)

I would have to say a small backup like that does not look normal. I always use a hard drive, and usually external.
