Windows 7 Creating restore point gives Error = 0x80040155 Interface is not registered

Not sure what happened but looks like I need to re-register some files but don't know which ones. I can get to the point of pushing the create button and entering the name of the point but once I push it, I get the error. Also, don't have any restore points.

Computer is running fine otherwise.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just wanted to update my progress. I ran sfc /scannow at the command prompt and it did repair some files but still didn't solve the problem. I ended up doing a repair from the DVD and that did fix the problem. So problem is fixed but don't know what was changed.
