Daily "Critical" Updates

Every day I'm receiving daily "critical" updates from Microsoft. The machine is almost a year old and has always run with Windows 7 Home. This has just started happening the past week or so and I haven't changed any settings. Thoughts?

PC is infected with virus, malware and spyware. Run all your spyware, malware and antivirus software you have. Then see if problem persists
