Windows 8 Delay finding shared folders after reboot

I have 2 computers running 8.1. Computer A runs 24/7 and has several shared folders. Computer B is used for a media center. If computer B is rebooted, it takes a couple of minutes before I can access computer A. Until the link is established, Computer A shows up in the network list of File Explorer but it can't be accessed.

The folders are shared with advanced sharing. Is there another way to share the folders so they would be immediately available after a reboot?

Have a server with the shared files running continuously. If you are using two PC's the PC's must first start up all services before they can communicate with each other, this is something you can’t avoid. Unless you have a different device running the shared files that does not need to be restarted.
