I ran disc check (Vista SP1) on my 2nd drive where my docs are, set to run after reboot. AFter the reboot my 2nd drive had been reset to a RAW format rather than the NTFS that it was previously and, of course, all my files had disappeared. I am currently running a disk retrieval tool as it has been a few weeks since my last back up.

Why would disc check re-fomat my HD?

I used to duel boot and I've had that happen to my XP drive before and it is a real pain in the azz.
