It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where you have to enter your password twice when waking your desktop from the screensaver. This can be frustrating but can often be resolved by checking a few settings on your system. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue: 1. Verify Screen Saver Settings: - Check your screen saver settings to ensure that the system is configured to require a password upon waking up. - Adjust the settings to see if the behavior changes. 2. Update Graphics Drivers: - Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause unusual behavior during wake-up processes. 4. Check for Malware: - Run a malware scan on your system to rule out any malicious software causing the issue. 5. User Account Control Settings: - Check your User Account Control settings to see if there are any settings requiring double authentication. 6. Reset Authentication Settings: - Resetting the authentication settings to default may help in resolving the double password entry issue. 7. System Updates: - Make sure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, system updates can address such issues. 8. Third-Party Software: - If you have any third-party security software installed, check their settings to ensure they are not causing the double authentication. 9. Check Event Viewer: - Look into the Event Viewer to see if there are any error messages related to the double password entry problem. This might give more insight into the issue. If after trying these steps the issue persists, it might be helpful to seek further assistance from a tech support professional for a more in-depth look into the problem.
