I was running XP pro and my resolutions were recognized no problem, I did a clean install of Windows 7 and the resolution are not displaying properly.
Both my monitors are 1080, but what I boot the resolutions are way off and screens either don't fit the screen or are so low that the icons etc are very large and blurry.
I know how to change it, but when I go to display propreties and try the drop-down menu for resolution it's maxed out on my primary at a much lower resolution number and the secondary one has the proper 1080 option, but the picture is about a third the size of the screen.
I updated my graphics card but it didnt help.
Like I said before, it was fine with XP.
I hope this makes sense to someone and i can get some help.
Thanks you and happy holidays!

It sounds like you are experiencing resolution issues after upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this problem: 1. Check Graphics Driver: - Make sure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your graphics card. Sometimes, Windows 7 may not automatically update to the most recent driver, so it's best to visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7. 2. Adjust Screen Resolution: - Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution." - Try setting the resolution to the native resolution of your monitors (1920x1080 for each). - Ensure that the "Multiple displays" option is set correctly to...

Adjust Screen Resolution: - Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution." - Try setting the resolution to the native resolution of your monitors (1920x1080 for each). - Ensure that the "Multiple displays" option is set correctly to either "Extend these displays" or "Duplicate these displays," depending on your preference. 3. Check Monitor Settings: - Some monitors have settings that need to be adjusted manually to display correctly at their native resolution. Check your monitor's manual or on-screen display settings to ensure that it is set to the correct input and resolution. 4. Graphics Card Settings: - Access your graphics card control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Center) and check if there are settings related to display scaling. Adjusting these settings might help with fitting the screen properly. 5. Update Windows: - Ensure that your Windows 7 installation is fully up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for display issues. 6. Restart the Computer: - Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve display issues by resetting configurations. 7. Check Cable Connections: - Make sure that the cables connecting your monitors to the graphics card are securely plugged in. A loose connection can cause display problems. If after trying these steps the issue persists, please provide more details about your graphics card model, monitor brand, and any specific error messages you encounter. This information can help in further troubleshooting your display resolution problems. Happy holidays to you as well!
