Using Win 7 64X 8800 gt Logitech G9 Have two monitors setup and when I'm playing games like L4D2 or TF2 the mouse does not stay focused on the game in full screen mode, if I drag to the right I can see the cursor some times on the second screen, the reason it is an issue is that when the mouse is over there if I click at that time. The game will lose focus and minimize. At first I though it was the aero preview since when it would happen I would see the preview of the items on the taskbar. I changed the time on that to a 50 second wait and it still happens. Any thoughts on this would be very helpful, or if anyone else has the same issue. I have updated my video and mouse drivers still with no luck. I have also checked the event viewer and there are no errors or anything regarding my video drivers and or card at all.

It seems like you are experiencing a common issue with dual monitor setups and fullscreen applications not maintaining focus correctly. Here are some troubleshooting steps and solutions you can try to resolve the issue:

Possible Solutions:

  1. Disable Second Monitor Temporarily:
    • Temporarily disconnect the second monitor before launching the game to see if the issue still occurs. This can help determine if the problem is related to the dual monitor setup.
    []Fullscreen Windowed Mode:
    • Try running games in "Fullscreen Windowed" mode instead of exclusive fullscreen. This mode can sometimes prevent the mouse from drifting to the second screen.

    ]Software Solutions:
    • Cursor Lock Software: Consider using third-party software that locks the cursor to the game window, preventing it from moving to the second monitor.
    []Check Graphics Settings:
    • Ensure that your graphics settings are set to the native resolution of the primary monitor, as using non-native resolutions can sometimes cause mouse focus issues.
    [
    ]Check Game Settings:
    • In the game settings, look for options related to fullscreen display and try adjusting them to see if it resolves the focus issue.
    []Monitor Configuration:
    • Verify that your primary monitor is set correctly in Windows display settings. Sometimes, incorrect primary monitor settings can cause mouse focus problems.
    [
    ]Reinstall Graphics Drivers:
    • Completely uninstall your graphics drivers using a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and then reinstall the latest drivers from the official website.
  2. Check for Background Apps:
    • Ensure that no background applications are interfering with the game's focus. Close unnecessary programs before launching the game.

      Additional Tips:

    • Community Forums: Visit gaming community forums for games like L4D2 or TF2. Other users may have encountered and resolved similar mouse focus issues and can provide specific advice.
  • Monitor Firmware Updates: Check for any firmware updates for your monitors that may address compatibility issues with fullscreen applications.

    Note:

Ensure to back up your important data before making major system changes. Feel free to give these suggestions a try, and let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
