hi..

After I installed Windows 7 RC, I can't watch a DVD-movie without it crashing (BSoD)
everytime I play the dvd (past the menues) it take 10min and 50sec before it crashes my graphics driver... (Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) )

first the movie becomes 8 big pixels... (Subs not affected by any of this!!), then the movie turns blue, red, green, fine for a while and the crash to BSoD...

I thougt it was only in the RC it occured, but reinstalled beta 7000 samething there...

It happes in WMP12, VLC, HP DVDPlay (have tried fullscreen and not-fullscreen) everytime I play... and with all my DVD's..
I have tired old graphics driver, samething....

Solution
It seems like you are facing a frustrating issue with your DVD playback on Windows 7 RC and even after reverting to the beta version (7000). The symptoms you described, such as the movie becoming distorted with big pixels and eventually leading to a BSoD (Blue Screen of Death), indicate a graphics driver or compatibility problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  1. Graphics Driver Update: Ensure you have the latest graphics drivers compatible with Windows 7 installed. Visit the manufacturer's website (Intel in your case) to download and install the latest drivers explicitly designed for Windows 7.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. DirectX Diagnostic Tool: Use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to check for any issues with DirectX or graphics rendering.
    • Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter.
    • Check for any errors or issues in the different tabs, especially the Display tab.
[]Check System Files: Run a system file check to verify the integrity of system files.
    • Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and enter sfc /scannow.
    [
]Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows installation is up to date with the latest patches and updates.
    • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update.

      Additional Recommendations:

[]Hardware Acceleration: Try adjusting hardware acceleration settings in media players. Lowering it can sometimes resolve playback issues. []Codec Packs: Ensure you have the necessary codecs installed for proper DVD playback. Tools like K-Lite Codec Pack can help with this.
  2. BIOS Update: Consider updating your system BIOS if there is a newer version available from your computer manufacturer.

    Note:

    • Remember to create a restore point before making any significant changes to your system.
    • If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support or the manufacturer of your computer for further assistance.
Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the DVD playback issue on your system. Let me know if you need further assistance!
