I've been getting an error 0X8007241 on installation (At approx 4%=>27% of the files have been copied) to my computer, when the store bought direct from Microsoft legit, rewinds back to my legit XP Pro SP2. I'm attempting to install OS on IBM NetVista computer.
I've checked earlier, with the program that MS provides (Windows Vista Upgrade), to see if this computer is compatible with Vista Buisness and the program indicates IT IS compatible.
Does anyone have any ideas as to correct this problem?

It seems like you are encountering an error (0X8007241) during the installation process of Windows Vista Business on your IBM NetVista computer. This issue can be frustrating, but there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve it:
Steps to Resolve Error 0X8007241 During Installation:
- Check Hardware Compatibility:
- Ensure that your IBM NetVista computer meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows Vista Business. Check the processor, RAM, and storage requirements to confirm compatibility.
- Make sure that the installation media (DVD or USB) you are using to install Windows Vista Business is not damaged. Try using a different installation media to rule out any issues related to the disk or USB drive.
- Sometimes, the error can be caused by corrupted installation files. Try downloading a fresh copy of Windows Vista Business from the Microsoft website to eliminate this possibility.
- Disconnect any external devices connected to your computer during the installation process. Sometimes, conflicts with external devices can cause installation errors.
- Reset the BIOS settings to default on your IBM NetVista computer. Incorrect BIOS settings can sometimes lead to installation errors.
- Before installing Windows Vista Business, make sure that all device drivers for your IBM NetVista computer are up to date. Visit the IBM support website to download the latest drivers for your hardware components.
- If you manage to complete the installation, make sure to run Windows Update to download and install the latest updates and patches for Windows Vista. This can help resolve any compatibility issues.
Additional Notes:
- Since you mentioned using a store-bought copy of Windows Vista Business, ensure that the product key is valid and has not been used on another computer.
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
