hey. i'm trying to update my intel(r) graphics media accelerator driver for mobile and i keep getting the following error message: the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. setup will now exit. the current version i have installed is 15.12.1.1510 and i'm trying to update to 15.12.1.1608. i got the driver update from intel's website. but the error's telling me to get that same driver from the computer manufacturer's website. but when i checked the website(TOSHIBA), they didn't have the driver i got from intel's website. i have a toshiba satellite L305-S5915 laptop with a windows vista home basic 32bit os. if there's some way i can bypass the error, or if there's some way i can get hold of toshiba's website to see if they can add the driver upgrade to their website as a supported upgrade, please let me know as to what i can do. thanks.

It seems like you are facing an issue while trying to update the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver for your Toshiba laptop. The error message you're receiving is because the driver you obtained directly from Intel is not recognized as validated for your specific laptop model by Toshiba. Here are a couple of recommendations on how to proceed:

1. Locate the Driver on Toshiba's Website

  • Since the error message suggests getting the driver from Toshiba's website, it might be worth checking for the driver specifically tailored for your Toshiba Satellite L305-S5915 laptop model. Sometimes, manufacturers modify drivers to ensure compatibility with their hardware configurations.

    2. Contact Toshiba Support

  • Reach out to Toshiba's customer support or check their support page to inquire about the availability of the driver update for your specific laptop model. They may provide guidance on how to obtain the correct driver version for your system.

    3. Manual Installation

  • If you are confident in proceeding, you can try a manual installation of the Intel driver. Here's a general outline of how you might do this:
    • Download the Intel driver update from their website.
    • Extract the contents of the downloaded driver package to a folder.
    • Manually update the driver through the Device Manager by selecting the extracted folder as the location for driver installation.

      4. Driver Update Tools

[]You can also consider using third-party driver update tools that can scan your system and attempt to find the appropriate driver updates for your hardware. However, exercise caution and ensure you only use reputable tools to avoid potential issues.

    5. Note on Unsupported Systems

    [
]It's important to be aware that some older systems, like those running Windows Vista, may no longer receive driver updates from both manufacturers and Windows. In such cases, using the latest available compatible driver may be the best option for system stability. If you encounter any difficulties during the process or have further questions, feel free to ask for more assistance.
