AMD have released a hotfix for the yet unreleased Far Cry 2. This game looks to be taking the idea of immersive sandbox gaming to even higher levels with an area of 50km by 50km ready to be explored.. Anyway this thread is about drivers and the link for the hotfix is here:
Link Removed - Invalid URL
More details:
In a rather interesting and hasty move, AMD has decided to provide a hotfix driver for the Radeon X1x00, HD 2000, HD 3000 and HD 4000 series cards that will:
- Improve performance for the DirectX 9 version of Far Cry 2 on CrossFire compatible system
- Improve performance for the DirectX 10 version of Far Cry 2 on both single and CrossFire compatible systems
Of course Ubisoft's Dunia-powered Far Cry 2 will be officially released only next week - on the 21st in North America and the 24th in Europe, but AMD may be betting on an early leak.
As soon as I get my copy of the game I'll let on how good/bad it is...

Fixes HD 4850 Vista Crossfire X
ATI has released a new hotfix that should fix the HD 4850 Crossfire X mode issue in Windows Vista. This should fix both the black screen and boot OS failure with two or more ATI Radeon HD 4850 cards in Crossfire X mode under Windows Vista OS.
Until now, users with HD 4850 Crossfire running Windows Vista OS had to stick to 8.11 Catalyst, and according to some reports those that have two HD 4870 are still stuck with the previous driver.
Catalyst 8.12 was something that we eagerly awaited, but it looks like major fixes and performance gains will come with version 9.1.
