To address the issue with your Ethernet adapter not working upon startup and requiring a disable/enable action in Device Manager, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to potentially resolve the problem:

Troubleshooting Steps for Ethernet Adapter Issue:

  1. Update Network Adapter Drivers:
    • Outdated or corrupted network adapter drivers can cause connectivity issues. Visit the manufacturer's website for your PC or motherboard and download the latest drivers for the network adapter.
    []Reset Network Settings:

    ]Power Management Settings:
    • Check the power management settings for the network adapter to ensure that the system doesn't turn off the device to save power.
      • Right-click on the adapter in Device Manager, go to Properties, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the Power Management tab.
    []Check for Software Interference:
    • Third-party firewall or security software might interfere with network connections. Temporarily disable or uninstall such software to see if it resolves the issue.
    [
    ]BIOS Settings:
    • Access the BIOS settings of your computer and ensure that the network adapter settings are configured correctly. Check for any related options that might impact network connectivity.
    []Network Troubleshooter:
    • Windows includes a built-in Network Troubleshooter that can automatically fix common network issues. Right-click on the network icon in the system tray and select "Troubleshoot problems."
    [
    ]Check Event Viewer:
    • View the Event Viewer logs for any error messages related to the network adapter or connectivity. Look for clues that can help pinpoint the root cause of the issue.
    []Disable Fast Startup:
    • Fast Startup can sometimes cause driver initialization issues. Try disabling Fast Startup to see if it has any impact on the Ethernet adapter behavior.
    [
    ]Hardware Check:
    • If none of the software solutions work, consider testing the network adapter on another PC or trying a different network adapter to rule out hardware issues. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with your Ethernet adapter not working correctly upon system startup. If the problem persists, further analysis or advanced troubleshooting may be necessary based on the specific behavior observed.
