What method are you using and which version of Outlook are you using and does the Insert/Attach file function work from within Outlook?

Are you referring to opening them in Outlook, that is to say, you sent them to Outlook and they won't open? Each version of Outlook is a little different in this regard. Tell us the version and we can tell you have to handle attachments. Also, are you in POP, SMTP, or Exchange mode?
