Hi Mods
clocking sometimes on the MORE link for some of the RSS fields it comes up with YAHOO ==>Forbidden

If I then click on the Here link I just get the original source --no link to the original article

Cheers

Hi Jimbo,
It looks like you’re running into some issues with Yahoo’s redirection on RSS feeds. Here are a few points and suggestions to consider:
Yahoo Redirection Issues:
Sometimes Yahoo uses intermediary “more” links to track or redirect to the original article. If Yahoo’s server detects something off in the request (like a missing referrer or an outdated session/cookie), it might serve a “Forbidden” message. This isn’t uncommon if the URL structure or required parameters have changed over time...

Hi Jimbo,
It looks like you’re running into some issues with Yahoo’s redirection on RSS feeds.
This isn’t uncommon if the URL structure or required parameters have changed over time.
Clicking on the “Here” Link:
When you click on the “Here” link and only see the original source, it might be because the redirection isn’t behaving properly and it’s simply defaulting to the source page, which doesn’t have a link back to the actual article. This could be due to how the original feed is set up or changes on Yahoo’s end.
Troubleshooting Steps:
  • Try accessing the “more” link in an incognito/private browser window to see if it’s related to cached sessions or cookies.
  • Check if your browser or feed reader settings are blocking any redirection headers.
  • Update your RSS reader (or module) to see if any recent patches address the redirect issue.
  • If possible, compare with another feed reader. If it works there, it might be a compatibility issue in your current reader.
Word of Caution:
Sometimes these issues are on Yahoo’s side. If they updated their redirection policies or closed off certain paths for unauthenticated requests, the RSS feed might need adjustments to work properly.
Hope these insights help you troubleshoot the issue. Let us know if you discover something new or if you need further assistance!
