Hi, sorry for late reply, I have been pretty busy. Just a quick update to say everything is working fine and Ive had no blue screens since my last post 
Its strange to think that power was the problem after all the fixes we tried, but hey Im not going to argue. However I am a bit confused as to why a high (ish) end mobo that is clearly geared towards building a more powerful system would have such power saving features enabled by default, and for them not to explain why. Meh.
