Yes definitely. The OS is trying to look for the hardware you installed it with and can't recognize the system it was transferred to. If life is as simple as what you did, it would have been so sweet. Optical drives are cheap. You can get one for $15 or less. It's a cheap but good investment.Do you think it is because I plugged the hard drive to my old PC and installed from there?

I decided to connect my new hard-drive to my old pc that has a DVD-Rom to install the windows from there.

I don't know if it still matters now if you already formatted the hard drive. That should probably release the key already. If it works okay after your installation, then you are good. Just keep us posted. How do I release the license key?
Just hang in there. A lot of people here can help you.I will.... God I get so depressed when stuff like this happens, and everything from my own mistake not getting the DVD). It looks like it is okay until now, the USB installation worked. I typed in the activation key and now I am waiting. I think something between checking the hardware and replacing the monitor and keyboard helped, it's really weird.
Download the network driver here:Okay now I have another problem. It says something about the network adapter not being recognized and that I have to re-install the application or something.. ( i am sorry if the message is not accurate but this windows is in German and I hardly understand what it is saying.
I have a p8z77-V brand new motherboard if that helps..
