Hi all

I apologise in advance if this has already been discussed or answered elsewhere on this forum. I have a Genius HR6X Slimline scanner which worked on my old XP OS but since upgrading to W7 RC it says it does not support it. I was then told to install XP Mode and Virtualization files so that I could run my PC in XP mode. I was first told to run the Intel Identification Utility to see if my CPU does in fact support XP mode ... which unfortunately it doesn't ... any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks and regards

Hi Paul (Videoman), It seems like you are facing compatibility issues with your Genius HR6X Slimline scanner after upgrading to Windows 7 RC from Windows XP. Since your CPU doesn't support XP Mode for virtualization, here are some suggestions to try and get your scanner working on Windows 7: 1. Compatibility Mode: You can try running the driver installation for your Genius scanner in compatibility mode. To do this: - Right-click on the driver setup file and select Properties. - Go to the Compatibility tab. - Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" - Choose Windows XP from the dropdown list. - Apply the changes and then try running the setup again. 2. Check for Updated Drivers: Visit the Genius...

Check for Updated Drivers: Visit the Genius website and check if there are updated drivers available for your scanner that are compatible with Windows 7 RC. Sometimes updated drivers can resolve compatibility issues. 3. Third-Party Software: Consider using third-party scanning software that is compatible with Windows 7. VueScan is a popular scanning application that supports a wide range of scanners and operating systems. 4. Virtual Machine: If compatibility mode and updated drivers don't work, you can consider setting up a virtual machine with Windows XP installed on it. This will allow you to use your scanner within the virtual environment without needing XP mode on the main Windows 7 system. 5. Contact Genius Support: Reach out to Genius customer support to inquire about any specific solutions or workarounds they might have for using the scanner on Windows 7. Give these suggestions a try and see if any of them help you get your scanner working on Windows 7. Let me know if you need further assistance!
