I an running Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. So I set upn Homegroup there first. I am running Windows 7 Basic on my desktop so set it up second. On my desktop, I can see my laptop listed under homegroups and network. But my desktop does not show up on my laptop. I have left homegroup on both and set it up over and over. I don't know what to try next.

Sometimes restarting the Homegroup services can resolve connectivity issues.
Press Win + R, type services.msc, locate HomeGroup Provider and HomeGroup Listener services, right-click each service, and select Restart.
[]Join Homegroup Again:
Leave the Homegroup on both devices and then rejoin it.
Go to Control Panel > Homegroup > Leave the Homegroup.
Restart the devices and try to set up the Homegroup again.
[]Check Firewall Settings:
Ensure that the Windows Firewall or any third-party firewall/security software is not blocking Homegroup communications.
Temporarily disable the firewall and check if the devices can see each other.
[]IPv6 Connectivity:
Homegroup uses IPv6 for communication. Check if IPv6 is enabled on both devices.
In Network Connections, check the properties of the network adapter and make sure IPv6 is enabled.
[]Network Location Type:
Make sure both devices are classified under the same network location type (Home, Work, or Public).
Go to Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings to verify the network location type.
[]Drive Sharing Permissions:
Ensure that the drives or folders you want to share are actually set to be shared.
Right-click on the drive/folder, select Properties > Sharing, and make sure it's shared with the Homegroup.
[]Restart Your Router:
Sometimes network issues can be resolved by restarting your router.
Power off your router, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on.
[]Update Network Drivers:
Check if there are updated network drivers available for your devices.
Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest network drivers.
Create a Workgroup:
If Homegroup continues to have issues, consider creating a traditional Workgroup for sharing files and printers.
