HomeGroup simply doesn't work - no useful error message

    There could be some IP Passthru settings on some routers that need adjusting.

    I don't think so. Both routers are set up with basically the same security settings, and none of the computers have any trouble seeing each other on the LAN

    Getting Homegroup to work

    Hi Erik
    Had all your problems and more with a similar setup. Spent.........see lost.... two days researching this, and trying numerous 'fixes' and came across this HOw can I install Homegroups in Windows 7 when ipv6 is already enabled, applied all the settings and Voila, everything works as advertised. Have not rebooted either computer at this stage as don't want to ruin another day. Best of luck.[​IMG]
